Roast, ebay, etc.
I realize it's been a long, long time since I've posted here. The reason for this is due to the fact that, all of a sudden, I'm unable to view any blogs while at work, which also means I can't post on this one. Since starting at USD 500, I would post on my blog from the comfort of my classroom at Fairfax. While at home at night, I'm not on my computer as much since I use it all day long while at the school. When not stalking old books and DVD box sets on ebay and obsessing over Nick Cave tickets for late August in Chicago (got 'em!), Lisa's usually cruising her "mommy" message boards on this laptop. I'm finally giving up on the 600 page book Terry loaned me, and figured I'd take this opportunity tonight to catch you all up on a few things.
First off, the image here is the caricature and emblem I designed for the Surprise Roast of Josh Baze over the past weekend. In true Baze fashion, Zach decided to fore-go your traditional "bachelor party," in anticipation of Josh's impending nuptials next month, in favor of a good old fashion Friar's-style roast. I thought it was a brilliant idea, and was proud to serve as one of the roasters. Zach also asked me to design the emblem, posted here. I decided to try to do the drawing in the style of the old Al Hirschfeld drawings from back in the day. It took me the better part of two days, but felt like I was finally able to nail the look by capturing those pouty Baze lips.
I've also been extremely busy with trying to wrap up the school year. With eleven days to go, and counting, I'm keeping my eye on the light at the end of the tunnel. May 21. And the new Indiana Jones movie opens the next day. God, I hope it doesn't suck.

That sounds like fun. So what did you say?
Frasier
How did you like Indiana Jones?
